Hanoi is the heart of Vietnam, Ba Dinh Square is the heart of Hanoi. There took place the grand events of the capital and the country. Before, this is the west gate of Ha Noi ancient citadel. French colonialists broke the citadel to build a small flower garden. In 1945 it was renamed Ba Dinh gardens. Square is where thousands of people witnessed the ceremony on Independence Day 2th september 1945.

Today, the main square of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Demension of the square is 320m length and 100m width. There are 168 four season green grass squares. In the middle there is a flagpole. Ba Dinh Square became the sacred space of the Ha noi capital.
