Hoan Kiem Lake

       Beautiful as a flower basket in the heart of the city, Hoan Kiem Lake is surrounded by the streets of Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Thai To, Hang Khay. Three streets are about 1.800m long. The surface area is a large mirror reflecting the unsteady shade of ancient trees, the slender willows drooping hair, the roof temples, ancient temples, old moss towers, tall new buildings rise up to the sky.

       Previously This lake called Luc Thuy lake because the water color is green in four seasons. XV century, Luc Thuy Lake renamed Hoan Kiem lake (return sword). Hoan Kiem name associated with the story returning sword of Le King to the golden turtle. 

       Tortoise is one of four animist in the folk consciousness culture. This rare and valuable turtles still live in the lake. Happily for the visitor to see the turtle floating on the lake. There are two small islands floating on the lake. Large island is Ngoc lake, near the east coast, with the red bridge connecting the island. Turtle Island is smaller in the south of the lake. 

       Hoan Kiem is a meeting point for visitors in four seasons:

* Spring: traditional festivals and brilliant peach-colour

* Summer: streaming out fress breeze, fan away the sultry streets.

* Autumn: fanciful mist, the vague shade of willows

* Winter: Yellow leaves and slightly cold drizzle droplets
